Colorado College Drops Football Program

Our hearts are with the Colorado College Football Family. I still can't believe they dropped football. We have coaches here with CC ties (I coached there from 2003 - 2007), and Coach Swett was an All-American there in '07. We are doing all we can here at Grinnell to help out.

Spring Break!!!

Today is the mid-point of our Spring Break at Grinnell and currently there are Pioneer players and coaches scattered all throughout our country and the world!

There is a group of players visiting Chicago to see a Bulls game, the guys playing baseball are in south Florida, the guys running/throwing for the track team are in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. We also have people taking in the sun in Las Vegas, Texas, California, Colorado, Arizona and even in Argentina!

Classes start back up on Monday the 30th and we'll start posting more regularly at that point. But until then, happy spring!

Pioneer on TV?!

Pioneer defensive lineman, Chris Chavez '10 (2nd from right) put his Grinnell education to good use recently as the El Paso, TX native found himself on the set of ABC's "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" serving for a week as a translator.

Dodgeball!

We may not have any guys named Laser or Blaser, but we do play dodgeball!

At least once a week, a few of the Grinnell football players go to one of the elementary schools in town to join in on a physical education class. Quite often, the 21 year-old student-athlete finds himself trapped in a corner, defenseless against a 9 year-old armed with a red ball.

Being that we are at the end of our mid-Sems, this Friday morning the team will get together to play dodgeball amongst themselves. Pictures of this and some of the elementary school times to come soon!

Welcome to the new Grinnell College Football blog!

This is our last week of workouts before Spring Break. We are in a failure week, going to failure on the last set of all our lifts. We will post video of some of the better lifts later this week.
It is also mid-sems week, so our workouts will be shorter.
